Metabolix to Conduct a Webcast of Its First Quarter 2007 Financial Results

Cambridge, Massachusetts. Metabolix, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBLX), announced today that it will be releasing its first quarter 2007 financial results after the market close on Thursday, May 10, 2007. The full text of the release will also be available on the Company's website at www.metabolix.com. James Barber, the Company's CEO will host a conference call on the same day at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern).

The conference call will be webcast and can be accessed from the Company's website at www.metabolix.com in the investor relations section, as well as from the following link: http://viavid.net/dce.aspx?sid=00003E27. For those who are unable to listen to the webcast live, an indexed recording of the call will be posted on the Company's website following the completion of the conference call.

Under the terms of the lock-up agreements signed in connection with the Company's initial public offering, expiration of the lock-up period is extended and will end on May 28, 2007.
