About Mirel
Mirel is a new family of high performance, biobased plastics that are sustainable and totally biodegradable. Made from corn sugar, Mirel is a sustainable plastic material that is a versatile and durable alternative to petroleum-based plastics. Mirel is a family of commercially available biobased plastics appropriate for a wide variety of conversion processes and applications.
We can make a difference. Mirel makes a positive impact on global climate change by reducing petroleum usage and greenhouse gas emissions. Mirel plastic will also biodegrade in all environments with biological activity including soil, home composting, industrial composting, septic systems, wetlands, rivers and oceans.

About Telles
In 2006, Metabolix and Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) formed a joint venture company operating under the name of Telles to commercialize Mirel bioplastics. ADM has begun construction of the world's first Mirel biorefinery located in Clinton, Iowa. This new facility will produce 110 million pounds of Mirel plastic resin per year with start up scheduled for late 2008. Telles is responsible for the manufacturing, marketing and sales of Mirel worldwide.
